Last Saturday I attended the launch of Fervr: a website to encourage young Christians to live Christ-centred lives, encourage non-Christians to think about the values of our society, a resource for Christian leaders who are teaching young people, and also a place to connect people with Christian groups in their area.

One of our friends had his 21st recently. Since he is an enormous movie buff it was a dress-up party: “retro TV/movie characters or actors”. I was so plagued by indecision that I almost didn’t want to go, and having left it until that day to finalise a costume, the options were not too grand.

We saw Death Proof tonight. It was a choice between that and Death at a Funeral. Gee, did it feel like the wrong choice.

We saw The Kingdom last night. Having read the one sentence synopsis on IMDB it wasn’t what I was expecting. If I had seen the trailer or looked at the official website I might have been expecting something closer to what I saw. Even then, it was quite “sobering” (was the word my husband used) [...]
