About Kristarella

The Blog

This and that kristarella.com started as a personal blog. It is still a personal blog, with some focus on my (kristarella’s) interests. They include (in approximate order of writing frequency) graphics, web design, science, Christianity, blogging, computers, television, movies, music, games.

The blog has been active since December 2005. I find writing about what I read, think and do therapeutic. I also hope to improve my writing through writing, editing, and reading excellent blogs. It was through blogging that I became familiar with HTML and CSS, more recently (and gradually) PHP.

In February 2008 This and that changed name to kristarella.com. I felt kristarella was the name I’d been building for the last three years, where as This and that was just another example of my stellar creativity when it comes to naming things (if we’re not careful my first child will be called Baby!).

The Photoblog — The Naked Eye

I started the photoblog when I began taking photos with my husband’s Canon IXUS 50. It’s a great little camera. Good for point and shoot with a few fun options. I started to crave a bit more from my photography so I bought a Nikon D50.

Even after owning the camera for a couple of years I’m still learning more about it (read the user manual after using the camera for a while, not just when it’s new!), as well as photography in general.

I recently got a 50mm f/1.8 lens for my birthday. Ripper of a lens! A lot of photos in the near future will be taken by this puppy. smiley

I’m a Christian. I love the Lord Jesus Christ and am thankful for what he’s done to bring us back into a right relationship with God. I play guitar in our church band every three weeks.
