I don’t know how close this lake/dam was to Perth, but I’m sure it was somewhere in Western Australia, and reasonably far west because the plane hadn’t gone above the clouds yet. I thought these land and water formations were pretty cool; it wasn’t until I looked closer at the photo that I noticed it seems to be dammed up on the right.

Ben — Heh, for sure! We were using apps on our phones to track our GPS and match it to photos on Rottnest Island and around Perth a bit, but not on the plane (do camera GPS units work well on planes? not much line of sight to the satellites).
