I think that Passion of (the?) Christ is a good idea for Easter. I think it definitely captures the pain of Christ and the despair of his followers. A couple of times in the past I remember seeing snippets of an older movie put to What if God was one of us. If you think about it too hard it’s a bit cheesy and the song isn’t really theologically correct. However, it is effective for evoking emotions or thoughts about the crucifixion.

Hey, I tried really hard to find a link to a recording of the song, but it’s only on the Garage Hymnal CD Take my life. I don’t think they recorded us singing at Easter :( Not on the net anywhere.
I found a backing track… but only useful if you know the melody. :P

So about this post… Every Easter, my church plays a snippet from the movie Passion of Christ… it’s hollywood I know, but I believe it’s about as graphically representative of the pain that Jesus suffered – and the words of the song you played truly remind me of the sacrifice that was made.

I’d love to hear a recording of the song.
