Crayons

I bought some crayons at San Francisco airport because they make a good photo subject and they were cheaper than they are here. I was a bit disappointed with this shot. I couldn’t get the DoF I wanted. I will definitely play more with them.

This is a very nice shot. The angle that you took the photo reminds me of a child, with chin resting on the table, thinking of which color I wanted. Your DoF isn’t bad, I like the drastic contrast from blurd to the crisp orange. I’m in love with orange, so maybe that’s why I love it so! :)

    Thanks Lorilee :-)

I like a dramatic DoF myself, I can’t remember what I was disappointed with… perhaps I wanted the plane of focus to be in the middle of the box, but I might not have been able to achieve it with the lens I was using (i.e., I was too close to the box).

That’s interesting that you love orange! It’s not a very common favourite colour (as far as I can see)… can be good though.
