Darn it! I tore my jeans, I was dragging something heavy and must have really flexed my thigh muscles and they tore through a worn out seam. I can probably fix it, I will probably try, but I’m also going to buy new ones. I was thinking of buying another pair of jeans anyway, now I need to.
It’s pouring with rain today! It makes travelling a little difficult but hopefully it’ll do our city some good.
I wish girls wouldn’t scream because of stupid things. If you’re running across the road and it’s raining DON’T SQUEAL! Don’t they know the boy who cried wolf? If girls run around screaming willy nilly no one will pay attention to them when they’re being attacked and need help.
It reminds me of a time when I was on my way home from work, I had just walked out of the corridor in the hospital and was on my way out when there was blood-curdling screams coming from down the main hall. I have no idea where and part of me desperately wanted to search out the source. In a hospital there could be legitimate reasons to scream, in pain, having a psychotic episode, or someone could very well be attacked. It’s such a strange and quiet place in the hospital, there are many unused rooms and corridors and you don’t usually make eye contact with the people around because so many are sick and look funny.
The train is a strange place too. The was one trip I took where there was a man curled over talking to himself, he seemed to be having a very jolly conversation, he was laughing and I thought “at least he’s a happy psycho”. Then, he got off the train and suddenly hated the train, or the people on it, he started giving the finger and yelling at it and then walked away.
This afternoon there was a man on the train who felt the need to cover his ears and say to himself “people are sleeping, be quiet, people are sleeping, SHUTUP!”, plus a whole bunch of moaning (no one was asleep, by the way). People like that make me wonder. I have nothing against them, they were born or grew differently to most of us. I just wonder what they’re doing on the train, can they handle money well enough to buy a ticket and food, are they really capable of travelling competently by themselves? Do they have a role in society, do they have jobs, friends?
Isn’t it interesting the level of discomfort generated in us when we see them. I was tempted to move away from this moaning guy, mainly because he’s annoyingly noisy, another woman did move. I didn’t end up moving, I even got some work done on. Yay me. 😛
