Life and ramblings

This is Australia

I had a whinge about the heat earlier. Admittedly that was purely selfish but there are major disadvantages to mega heat and north-westerly winds. Bushfires. One about 10km from where I live (my place isn’t threatened) started earlier tonight causing the closing of the freeway, trains, roads, parks. It’s not only the potential destruction that sucks, it’s the concern about potential destruction, and not being able to get home. There are lots of people that live in between Sydney and Newcastle that if they went out on the train or freeway today they can’t get home at the moment. Maybe they’ll be allowed up the Pacific Highway but since a lot of it runs near the freeway I kind of doubt it.

I hope we get rain tonight.

Well, I reckon the Pacific Hwy would be a good idea, but it runs through the rural part of the area, so…through the bush and shrubbery, so they might close that before they close the F3…I dunno though
