Today, the first Tuesday of November, is Melbourne Cup Day. The day of the Melbourne Cup Carnival at Flemington Races Course, which is funnily enough in Melbourne, Australia. It seems to be a day when everyone gets a half-day at work (not officially) to watch the big race (race number 7). It’s also a day for wearing fancy hats. Alas, despite my love for hats I don’t have one today.
We’ve got a sweep going, $1 per horse, we have three horses each but Siew got both of the favourites! We’re going over to the pub at 2.30 for beers and watching the race. Good fun!
My horses are Maybe Better, Railings and Land ‘N Star, wish me luck for our 1st prize jackpot of $12 :P
