OVERSEAS. That’s what my phone displays when I get home from uni or work and someone has called to sell me something. I should know better than to pick the phone up when it shows up and I’m actually home. You’d think that the instinctual relief I feel when I see that number on the missed calls list and think “Thank goodness I wasn’t home when they called” would have taught me to not actually answer the call. Apparently not. Thankfully I could actually understand what this man was saying enough to hear the details of his offer. If I was at all interested in getting myself into something that I couldn’t read the fine print of then I would have been greatly interested. He wanted to send me a new mobile phone; a Nokia, I think he said 6200 but I don’t think that’s really a new swanky one so actually maybe this deal was crap; they were going to send it to me for free and all I had to do was spend at least $30 a month on it, that would be free too. It would also only be 25c for the first five minutes to any land line in Australia. I managed to convince him I didn’t want it. I’m quite happy with my Motorola V3 that’s on my dad’s business plan, which includes nearly free calls to all of my family, thank you very much!
Note to self: do not pick up phone when it displays OVERSEAS!
